A regional insurer with a different philosophy
In 1987, Richard Vantage opened a one-room insurance office in Columbus, Ohio with a belief that would seem radical in the industry: that claims should be settled fairly, quickly, and without making customers prove they deserve what they paid for.
Thirty-seven years later, that philosophy still drives every policy we write and every claim we pay.
The Vantage Timeline
1987 — Founded in Columbus, Ohio. First year: 847 policies in force.
1995 — Expanded to five states. Launched dedicated commercial lines division.
2003 — Introduced the 7-Day Auto Claims Guarantee — the first in our markets.
2011 — Earned A.M. Best A+ Financial Strength rating for the first time. Maintained continuously since.
2018 — Launched Vantage Mobile App. 60% of claims now filed digitally.
2024 — 200,000+ policies in force across 12 states. Still family-owned. Still claims-first.
